Feb. 2 Board Update: Return to In Person Instruction

Movement Schools Board of Directors

Dear Movement Families,

Thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate this school year in the midst of COVID19. Together this year, we’ve made difficult decisions and weathered challenges as we work hard to provide high quality instruction to our students. We recognize and appreciate the commitment and perseverance shown from our Movement Schools community-our students,  families, teachers, and staff. Thank you!

As outlined in our January 8th correspondence, our Board met this week to re-evaluate COVID-19 conditions regarding a return to in-person instruction. The Board has decided to return to in-person instruction following the safety measures outlined by the state of North Carolina and the CDC. All students and staff will be required to wear masks throughout the school day, maintain social distancing, practice frequent hand washing/sanitizing,  and participate in daily symptom monitoring and temperature screenings.

Movement Schools will return to in-person instruction Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Wednesday, February 24th will be a half-day, following the half-day schedule for your school.

Movement families will continue to have the option to remain in virtual instruction.

Our Freedom Campus will operate at approxiamtely 50% capacity.  We will work from our in-person list from November and fill in available spaces from there.   We will do our best to accommodate all families who wish for in-person instruction while following all guidelines from the NC Health Department.

To help us better prepare for a return to in-person instruction, please complete this survey by 5pm Monday, February 8, 2021.

Again, thank you for your continued partnership. Reach out to your School Principal with any questions you may have.

Best,

Movement School Board of Directors
