Julian Torres

Julian Torres brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit and education management to his role as Chief Operating Officer of Movement Schools. With over fifteen years of dedication to educational equity and organizational efficiency, Julian is committed to fostering environments where teams, students, and stakeholders feel welcomed, supported, and equipped to accomplish the organizational mission.

Most recently, Julian served as Vice President of Program Operations at The Pahara Institute, where he streamlined processes and optimized operations for rapid growth. Previously, he helped found and grow The Tarrant To & Through Partnership as Managing Director of Operations & HR where he led the growth and expansion of an organization aimed at creating equitable post-secondary pathways for students in Tarrant County, Texas.

Julian’s tenure at Uplift Education is marked by strong team performance and operational efficiency across numerous campuses. As Regional Director of Operations he oversaw the delivery of strong operational support to the largest charter network in North Texas, working alongside countless stakeholders to ensure students had the educational experience they deserve. His early career with Teach For America highlighted his commitment to education, where he coached teachers and developed a passion for educational equity.

Julian holds a Master’s of Business Administration from Syracuse University, a Bachelor’s of Science from Florida State University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Finance from Cornell University. He is actively involved in various alumni boards and professional associations and is proud to call Charlotte his new home.
